My Advice to Future College Students
I would advise future college students to not give up on their writing. The thought of having to take an English class would make me feel trapped in a pit of despair but despite those feelings, I persevered and I managed to learn a lot from the instructors. There are several places you can go for help with your writing, for example you check to see if your school has a writing center. Most campus’ offer these services for their students along with tutors that won’t cost you anything. There are also several online sites like Purdue OWL that can help you if you need extra help with an assignment. They can help you with just about any aspect of your writing from the formatting to finding resources.

How ENG 101 Has Influenced My Writing
At the beginning of the semester, my writing was a bit crude to say the least. I had the basic skills to write an essay but the best grade I could hope for would be a C+ at the most. Throughout the semester in ENG 101 I have learned to fine tune my writing style. I have learned how to analyze data and how to sort it into relevant information. I have also learned how to analyze a piece of writing and how to write an essay analyzing said writing. AWC campus offers several tools to help students excel with their writing and I have learned to ask for help when I feel overwhelmed by the workload. The link at the bottom is a great place to go for help with your writing, if you ever need it.

What I Like To Read
It's been a while since I picked up a book and actually read it for my enjoyment. I tend to only read books that are assigned as part of the course but once in a while I enjoy reading the local newspaper. Something that I always do in the mornings is check the weather then I browse through the web page to see what’s new but I have never thought of it as reading material until now. Now that I think about it, my morning routine does seem to include reading for enjoyment. I rather enjoy reading the news in the morning because it helps me stay connected to the rest of the world, especially if I don’t have time to stop and watch the morning news, I can just browse online through the headlines and inform myself on the things that interest me the most. If you are like me and enjoy surfing the web for news, please follow the link below to find the headlines that interest you the most.

Me Me Me
Greetings, from the sunniest place on Earth! My name is Abel and I live in Yuma Arizona which is in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. I have two brothers and three nephews, which I care for like if they were my own. Besides school, my life totally revolves around them; I pick them up from school regularly because both their parents either work or go to school but let’s get back to me now. My five dogs occupy the other half of my life. Thanks to one of them we know have eight additional puppies and another pregnant dog so that makes a grand total of thirteen dogs. FYI, this doesn’t include the ones that are waiting to be born. I am currently a student at AWC majoring in Radiology which I am almost ready to enter in. This is seen as a great achievement in my family since, I am the first one to make it this far in school. One interesting fact about me is that I am a technology geek by nature and because of this great talent, it comes natural for my family to come to me for EVERY little problem; even if it’s just to turn on their phone (this is including aunts and cousins). At the moment, my biggest worry is cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner.
